Junior Program Associate - Urban Water Resilience

Bio

Krishna Kumar is a Junior Program Associate with the Urban Water Resilience team at WRI India. He works at the intersection of urban water challenges and development in cities, such as water sensitive urban design and restoration of water bodies and water quality aspects in cities.

Prior to joining WRI India, Krishna worked at an organization dedicated to sustainable development projects for Telangana state government. He also has experience in international research projects focusing on Musi River rejuvenation with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, IIT Madras and University of Birmingham. While pursuing his masters, Krishna also interned at an environmental auditor, Pollucon Laboratories and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), and later with WRI India on projects related to water, air pollution and lake rejuvenation.

Krishna holds a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from Kakatiya University, Warangal, and a M.Tech degree in Environmental Engineering from NIT Surat. His primary interest lies in Sustainable Engineering, Design aspects of nature-based solutions and decentralized treatment systems, ecology, and environmental studies.

Apart from this, Krishna like music, photography and loves to explore different sports.
