Bio

Satbhan, or "Satya," is a Senior Communications Associate at WRI India, focusing on media engagement. As part of the Core Communications team, he helps shape strategy and outreach efforts that support WRI’s leadership and program teams working at the intersection of environment, economic opportunity, and human well-being.

Satya has a strong background in institutional communications, reputation management, executive and strategic communication, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior to joining WRI India, he worked at Edelman, a global communications firm, where he led communications efforts for clients like Microsoft and The Rockefeller Foundation. His work focused on making topics such as generative AI, cloud computing, climate action, and finance more accessible to diverse audiences. Notably, he contributed to award-winning campaigns for Microsoft and played a key role in coordinating the India visits of Satya Nadella, CEO and Chairman of Microsoft, in 2023 and 2024, as well as Raj Shah, President of The Rockefeller Foundation, in 2023.

A recipient of the PRmoment 30under30 award, which recognizes rising stars in communication under 30, Satya operates at the intersection of technology, development, and storytelling, using strategic thinking to drive meaningful impact.

A graduate in journalism and mass communications, Satya is passionate about storytelling in all its forms. In his free time, he explores new formats like improv and puppetry to expand his storytelling skills.
