Senior Research Associate

Bio

Ijas M A is the senior research associate of the Energy Program of WRI India. He oversees the subnational level research activities and engagements related to sustainable energy transition, sustainable cooling, and energy efficiency.

Ijas comes to WRI India with an extensive experience in demand side management, energy efficiency and renewable energy from government as well as private sector. He has previously held various positions at the Energy Management Centre – Kerala, Ela Green Buildings & Infrastructure Consultants, and Integrated Rural Technology Centre. Ijas holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a post-graduation in energy management from Cochin University of Science and Technology.

He enjoys traveling, trekking, and photography. He also loves watching movies and experimenting with cooking.
