Workshop: Collaborative Approaches to Inclusive Energy Planning

Energy access is at the heart of development, being interlinked with 125 of the 169 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets. India has made significant progress to achieve 100% energy access at the household level. There is also an opportunity to ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for households and rural and remote institutions, particularly those serving social and productive needs while swiftly transitioning to clean energy. India is uniquely positioned to lend a supporting hand on sustainable energy access to its allies in the global south. This requires an innovative, equity-driven and data-informed approach to complement integrated planning strategies.

This event aims to explore the intersection of data, analytical tools and energy planning with a focus on promoting energy access for all, especially for those in remote and underserved areas.

The event will feature a keynote address and a presentation on Energy Access Explorer (EAE), the world’s first digital public good designed to advance climate-friendly energy access and support sustainable energy transitions. There will also be series of roundtables on data-driven energy planning, covering inclusive approaches, the importance of partnerships, and the role of open-source technologies.
