Workshop on Investment Bazaar - Energy Efficiency Financing

Industries are witnessing the impacts of climate change with respect to reduced productivity and profitability. As we look forward to a sustainable future, there is a need to significantly move towards low-carbon and energy efficient technologies, especially for MSMEs. While enterprises might be open to adopting energy efficient technology, they lack the awareness of the right technology that should be installed and often find financing these technologies a challenge. To this end, WRI India, in collaboration with Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), is organizing a workshop on Energy Efficiency Financing. This workshop, supported by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) aims to bridge the gap in access to technology and finance faced by enterprises by bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, including MSMEs, financial institutions, technology providers, policymakers, and industry experts, to explore and discuss the advancements and opportunities in energy-efficient technologies for industrial applications and bridge the financing gap.

Objectives of the Workshop:

  • Explore innovative solutions and strengthen existing financing mechanisms for MSMEs to adopt energy-efficient technologies
  • Share best practices and case studies from successful energy efficiency projects
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange among industry stakeholders, financial institutions and policymakers
  • Identify opportunities and challenges in scaling-up energy efficiency initiatives in the MSME sector

Expected Outcomes:

  • Enhanced awareness and understanding of financing mechanisms for energy-efficient technologies
  • Identification of actionable strategies to overcome barriers in MSME adoption of energy-efficient practices
  • Strengthened collaboration among key stakeholders for future initiatives in the energy efficiency domain
