When Communities Choose to Engage

WRI India, along with Mahila Housing Trust (MHT), invites you to attend a webinar where we will explore how community action groups can trigger and transform collective aspirations into tangible change. We will unpack our experience in adopting a community engagement model, as part of our community demonstration project under the Australia India Water Security Initiative (AIWASI). AIWASI aims to improve water security and livability in two disadvantaged communities in Delhi by adopting strategies aligned with the Water Sensitive City framework and the Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles. Towards this end our community engagement model, helmed by Community Action Groups (CAGs), has been instrumental in addressing local challenges and strengthening community-government relations.

• Key learnings and highlights from our CAG engagements.
• How the WSC framework integrates stakeholders across different levels.
• Voices from the ground: Residents of Bakkarwala and Mubarakpur Dabas in Delhi share their experiences (This part of the session will be in Hindi).
• We will close with a Q&A session open to all.
