Sreekanth Vakacherla is the Program Head – Clean Air Science at WRI India, where he oversees the science strategy to support Indian cities and regions in reducing their air pollution.

Sreekanth brings two decades of extensive experience in atmospheric aerosol and air quality research. He has previously held positions at various levels across a range of organizations in India, including ISRO, academic institutions, and domestic and international think tanks.

Sreekanth holds a Ph. D. in atmospheric aerosols from Andhra University's Department of Physics, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Prior to this, he pursued his M. Phil. and M. Sc. in Physics. He carried out his postdoctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology- Bombay, India.

Sreekanth is a passionate philatelist and numismatist, with a collection of stamps and currencies from more than 100 countries.
