Siddharth Edake is a Senior Manager with the Food, Land and Water program at WRI India. Here, he manages WRI-led programs on forest and landscape restoration that support enhancement of national carbon sinks and, are cost-effective and natural climate change solutions.

Siddharth holds an MSc in Biodiversity from University of Pune and has 15 years of work experience. Prior to joining WRI, he was leading the Centre for Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services at The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) and was responsible for designing, planning, and implementing a wide array of projects with a focus on biodiversity assessments, carbon finance, commons governance, ecosystem service valuation, and habitat restoration for a period of 10 years. During his tenure with TERI, he has carried out research projects in remote landscapes of India stretching from Ladakh, Gulf of Mannar, Rajasthan, to North-East India. His areas of interest include institutions, decentralization and devolution, local governance, forestry and biodiversity, and natural resource management.

Siddharth is a former national badminton player who loves traveling, bird watching, and wildlife photography.
