Dr. Shikha Anand is working as Senior Program Associate in the Energy Access Team at WRI India where she supports the development of the Energy Access Explorer by strengthening data-driven integrated energy planning across the Indian geographies.

She has previously worked at National Remote Sensing Centre, ISRO, Hyderabad as Project Scientist in Geo-MGNREGA Project. She has expertise in spatially explicit mapping, analysis and planning for developing climate resilient villages across the country. More recently, she was engaged as Young Professional at NITI Aayog in the Natural Resources and Environment Vertical where she worked on topics related to climate change, nature-based solutions & ecosystem services, just-transition, blue economy and carbon market in India.

Shikha has her PhD in Forestry with specialization in Environment Management from Forest Research Institute and Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO. Her research focused on mapping the hotspots of provisioning ecosystem services in a Himalayan watershed using various geospatial approaches.

In her free time, Shikha enjoys cooking, reading, exercising and travelling to new places.
