Deepak Tewari
Senior Program Research Fellow – Energy
Deepak Tewari is a Senior Program Research Fellow in the Energy Program at WRI India. He works on energy transition initiatives at the state and city level to support India’s climate goals. His work focuses on decarbonisation in the buildings sector and promoting sustainable cooling by informing policies, analysing technologies, and identifying solutions that help scale energy efficiency and clean energy adoption.
Prior to joining WRI India, Deepak worked with the Alliance for an Energy-Efficient Economy, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and The Energy and Resources Institute in various capacities. He has led and contributed to initiatives in reducing emissions in buildings and industry, including work on low-carbon building materials, energy audits, benchmarking, rating programs, and building codes.
Deepak holds a master’s degree in energy engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering Roorkee. He is also a certified Energy Auditor from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
