About
Accelerating Clean Energy (ACE) in India is WRI India’s flagship annual event offering fresh insights into ongoing and emerging research streams on global energy transitions and their implications on India. The event will showcase ongoing and emerging research, spotlight the progress, discuss the challenges and identify opportunities towards India’s clean energy journey.
In its sixth edition, ACE will be held in collaboration with the School of Sustainability at IIT Madras and India’s Carbon Capture and Utilization Network (CO2 India).

The 2025 edition will feature a wide-ranging discussions with a special focus on systems transformation, deliberating on aspects of inclusive and equitable energy transition in India.
Key themes this year include:
- The state of industrial decarbonization in India
- Sustainable cooling solutions in a warming world
- Financing mechanisms for India’s energy transition
- Circularity in renewable energy supply chains
- Carbon capture & storage (CCUS)
- Climate smart villages
Recognizing that energy systems are deeply intertwined with human systems, the conference will explore how the clean energy transition can contribute to food, nutritional and water security, as well as generate and livelihood opportunities. An all-of-economy approach is essential to ensure that the rising tide of India’s energy transition lifts all boats.
This conference aims to bridge research gaps and identify future directions for India’s energy transition. Through interactive, research-focused sessions, we hope to foster valuable insights. Participants will include representatives from national and state governments, the scientific community, academia and students, think tanks, and private sector.
