Lanvin Concessao is a Program Lead in the Energy Program at WRI India, where he leads the program's work on energy for equitable development. His work focuses on advancing access to sustainable, affordable, and reliable energy to strengthen development services in rural and underserved communities across climate-vulnerable regions of India. He drives research and policy engagement efforts, collaborating with government agencies and development partners to design, finance, implement, and generate evidence on the role of clean energy solutions across sectors such as health, agriculture, and education.

Since joining WRI India in 2020, Lanvin has contributed actively to the national and global conversations on decentralised renewable energy and its linkages to social and development outcomes. He shares insights through publications, articles, and participation in national and international forums. He has also served as Co-chair of the Staff Assembly and as a Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Ambassador at WRI.

Before joining WRI India, Lanvin worked at Oorja Solutions, where he was involved in project planning, fundraising, and impact assessment of community-based, clean energy projects for smallholder farmers. He has also worked as a consultant at FAO's Corporate Environmental Responsibility team and UNDP's Smart Facilities Initiative, supporting the deployment of energy monitoring and hybrid solar systems across multiple UN country offices in Asia and Africa.

Lanvin holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Manipal University, India, and a master’s degree with a specialisation in renewable energy systems, from the University of Strathclyde, UK. His interdisciplinary approach is further informed by certifications in political economy analysis, behavioural science, and gender and social equity.

Originally from Mangalore, Lanvin now resides in Bangalore and enjoys football, cricket, pickleball, and running. He is always keen on exploring new places to dine and travel.
