Beyond Physical Transformation: What it Takes to make a City Young Children-friendly?

Young children and caregiver-centric urban development in cities is a co-creative process that requires a multi-pronged approach. This webinar aims to unpack the role of various actors, constituting the urban local ecosystem in cities, who are key to ensuring the long-term sustenance of young children and caregiver friendly environments. Through the experience of the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge (NNC), we will explore how diverse stakeholders have been the real changemakers in cities, scaling and sustaining young children-oriented development.

We will be hosting a panel of experts, who have successfully conducted campaigns and mobilized people through different environment-friendly and sustainability-led initiatives. The topics we will touch upon include -

• How local stakeholders, such as NGOs, civic groups, local leaders, and early childhood service providers, like child development project officers and anganwadi workers, can play a pivotal role in demanding and facilitating young children and family-friendly development.

• How city and civic groups can work together to bridge the gap and address the lack of this much-needed infrastructure.

• What does it take to maintain and sustain public spaces and facilities at the neighbourhood level?
