Senior Research Analyst - Energy Program

Bio

Naren Pasupalati works as a Senior Research Analyst in WRI India’s Energy Program. As part of the program’s objective to help states achieve a sustainable energy transition, Naren would conduct state-level policy research and analysis and build partnerships with key state energy agencies, civil society groups and academic institutions.

Prior to joining WRI, Naren worked for consultancies such as Frost & Sullivan and WRc (UK) and in government institutions including the National Center for Sustainable Coastal Management and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He has been part of and led a wide variety of projects that focus on utility asset management, coastal ecosystem conservation, smart cities, urban governance and energy.

Naren is an economist by qualification, having completed his master’s degree in Environmental Economics from the University of York (UK). He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics from Madras Christian College and Loyola College, respectively.

Naren is a resident of Chennai where he lives with his wife Gita and daughter Kavya. During his free time, he loves to watch movies, listen to music and go cycling.
