Virtual Launch of Mahra Rohtak Play(ce)making Competition

WRI India, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is launching a placemaking competition for budding and young architects, urban designers and planners. The purpose of the competition is to reimagine public spaces frequented by youth in Rohtak to make them more experiential, accessible and safe.

The competition is part of the larger Safer Mobility for Youth, Rohtak project convened by WRI India in partnership with the District Administration of Rohtak, Rohtak Police and Raahgiri Foundation, with support from Fondation Botnar and Global Road Safety Partnership.

The event will begin with a short conversation with Ar. Sujata Hingorani, on the need for quality public spaces and the role they play in improving a community’s quality of life, followed by a Q&A session. After a brief presentation about the Safer Mobility for Youth project and this competition, the President of Indian Institute of Architect, Ar. CR Raju will launch the competition.
