Land Accelerator South Asia 2022: Fireside Chat Alumni Panel

Meet our panel of four incredible alumni from previous cohorts of the Land Accelerator South Asia for a Fireside Chat and learn about their entrepreneurial journeys to get insights about their business growth.

Aimed at supporting Land Accelerator South Asia’s Cohort 2022, this session is organized to provide useful lessons and tips from experiences of these four successful entrepreneurs which they learnt through a hard way. This session will derive highly relevant aspects of entrepreneurship through interaction-oriented audience questions while discussing the roadmap followed by these start-ups.

SPEAKERS

Anubhav Mittal, Founder & CEO, Bio Craft Innovation Pvt. Ltd.

With 17 years of global experience in marketing, business operations and management, Anubhav is passionate about using technology to convert waste into valuable resources. An IIT Delhi graduate, he has a specialized MBA degree in textile technology from HEC Paris.

IBANSS technology makes bamboo-based granules as an alternative to single use plastic. The company is currently in the process of developing its own bamboo plantations through local community engagement.

Sheeba Sen, Co-founder, Hasten Ventures

A recognized social entrepreneur, Sheeba has spent the last 10 years working across rural India on poverty alleviation initiatives, from building farmer to cup supply chains for coffee farmers in the south to heading a grassroots rural development non-profit in the Himalayas. Sheeba studied International Relations at the London School of Economics, followed by the Legal Practice course at the University of Oxford. Hasten Ventures envisions building natural capital infrastructure to heal the planet while creating opportunities for economic development & social equity.

With a community-centric approach, they combine scientific methods, systems & design thinking, and sustainable finance to design, develop and implement regenerative projects that generate carbon offsets and social and economic co-benefits.

Dr. Suchita Bhandari, Founder & CEO, Urvara Krsi Pvt. Ltd. (UKPL)

Dr. Suchita Bhandari is a leading professional in the agriculture & agroforestry sector. With a Ph.D. in Agriculture Science and a post-doctorate from Cambridge University, England, Suchita has more than 30 years’ experience across multiple agroforestry projects, both Indian and international, with a proven track record.

Urvara Krsi works towards building market-driven ecosystems for farmers and enable them to sell their end produce directly to buyers, thus eliminating middlemen. They have developed R&D centric business models on agroforestry of pulpwood tree plantations, cultivation of native agricultural crops such as spices, medicinal plants and aromatic grass and customized end-to-end project management solutions for state level forest departments and vegetable food processing companies.

Charanpreet Singh, Co-founder, SoilHackers Robotics

An engineer by degree, Charanpreet has very passionate about building next generation agricultural robots and machine learning. With his interests and skills as a researcher and a technology evangelist, he co-founded SoilHackers Robotics to develop technology-driven solutions for farmers.

Soilhackers has built an AI-powered robot that automates the weeding process and ensures zero soil damage or carbon emissions, significantly reducing operational and ecological costs for both smalholder and large-scale farmers.
