The Future of Intermediate Public Transport

World Resources Institute is hosting a roundtable discussion around the future of intermediate public transport in Mumbai chaired by Gautam Chatterjee (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, and attended by key players in the sector like Sonia Sethi (IAS), Transport Commissioner, Satish Sahasrabudhe, Additional Commissioner of Transport and representatives from BEST, Mumbai Police, MSRTC, MTDC, Mumbai taxi unions, Ola, Meru, Uber, Tab Cab, Bookmycab, NASSCOM, and Mumbai Grahak Panchayat.

The aim of this event is to discuss the quick-paced and dynamic nature of intermediate public transport in Indian cities, building on our research on the impact of on-demand transport in the city of Mumbai.

The discussions will focus on arriving at service level benchmarks for Mumbai and the creation of a Mumbai Innovative Mobility Forum for the purpose of furthering research, collaborative initiatives, and discussions around regulatory frameworks.
