Bus Karo Workshop - Strategizing Electric Bus Operations in India

WRI India will be hosting its twelfth Bus Karo workshop on ‘Strategizing Electric Bus Operations in India’ with support from Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation and FedEx, and in partnership with C40 Cities Finance Facility. The workshop is part of WRI India’s Bus Karo program - an initiative aimed to engage with bus agencies and other stakeholders to deliberate technical issues that hinder the development of bus systems and foster peer to peer learning.

The two day workshop will include thematic discussions and activities for participants on the following:

  • Electric bus technology, support infrastructure, financing and route planning for electric buses. This will be followed by a discussion and an activity on exploring collaborative models for public and on-demand bus transport in Indian cities.

  • Launch of the ‘Better Bus Challenge’ - an open innovation challenge that aims to foster innovative solutions from OEMs, technology and service providers to improve operations and management, as well as the safety and services of public bus systems in India.
