Waseem Mir
Junior Program Associate – Sustainable Cities and Transport

Waseem Mir is a Junior Program Associate with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. He leverages his data analytics and research skills to support the electrification of freight in India, focusing on feasibility analysis, scenario development and modeling.
Before joining WRI India, Waseem worked as a Consultant Analyst at Morphus Communications, analyzing audience behavior and supporting content strategy. He also gained IT experience in data analysis and technical troubleshooting. His academic work, including a project on traffic light optimization using reinforcement learning, along with his interest in economics, finance and policy, strengthened his drive to apply data-driven solutions to challenges in mobility, sustainability and public policy.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering and is committed to applying technology toward sustainable, data-driven solutions. His academic foundation is complemented by certifications in data science and programming, including courses from IBM’s Cognitive Class and 365 Careers. These credentials span Python programming, data analysis and statistics, equipping him to address complex challenges at the intersection of data science, sustainability and public policy.
Beyond work, Waseem has a keen interest in philosophy, psychology, spirituality, politics and anthropology, which he explores through reading and reflection.
