Vivek Venkataramani
Associate Director – Climate Resilience Practice

Vivek is a Senior Program Manager with the Climate Resilience Practice team at WRI India. He manages projects focused on mainstreaming resilience into development planning, climate budgeting, migration, and capacity building for decentralised governments.
He brings over 15 years of research and consulting experience in public finance, adaptation, and resilience, having worked with organisations like the World Bank and IIED (UK). His work has focused on climate-proofing programs in sectors such as water, agriculture, social protection, and urban development, along with supporting states in accessing adaptation finance.
Vivek holds a master’s degree in Quantitative Economics from the Madras School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Loyola College. He has also received training in the Economics of Adaptation and Public Finance Management.
Outside of work, Vivek is a passionate animal welfare advocate and a member of the animal welfare board. He is also a pickleball enthusiast, music lover, and a whistling record holder.
