Tamanna is a Program Associate with the Communications team at WRI India, where she works on video content to communicate the organization’s research and programs. Based in Jaipur, she brings a background in Research to her work in visual storytelling.

Tamanna began her career as a Research Fellow at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, on a DRDO-DGRE project detecting snow avalanches from Sentinel satellite data to support defense personnel training in Drass, Jammu and Kashmir. She then worked as a Computer Programmer at DRDO before moving into freelancing as a graphic designer, video creator, social media manager and researcher for international clients. What began as a hobby became her profession.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, and a master's degree in Earth Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Her undergraduate thesis tracked 30 years of urbanization in Bangalore using Landsat thermal data and NDVI analysis.

Tamanna stays interested in GIS, but most of her world revolves around storytelling and content creation. Outside work, she makes content for her dog and explores how AI can simplify everyday life.
