Sonal leads the Finance and Legal department at WRI India, providing strategic oversight and direction for all financial and legal functions. Her responsibilities span organizational budgeting, financial planning, accounting, grants and contract management, governance frameworks, risk assessment and mitigation, compliance, and the successful execution of system transitions to enhance operational efficiency and transparency.

She brings 16 years of experience, including over 9 years in the social sector, and previously worked at Development Bank of Singapore, Mumbai Fort Branch, in the Retail Banking Department as the Branch Ops Manager. In that role, she handled all aspects of banking operations, marketing, client servicing, and statutory compliance.

Sonal holds an MBA in Finance from Chetana Institute, Mumbai, and an LLB from Government Law College, Mumbai.

Apart from work, Sonal enjoys reading, dancing, and watching movies. She loves to travel and explore the architecture of different places.
