Seema Chouhan
Program Manager – Sustainable Cities & Transport

Seema Chouhan is a Program Manager with the Sustainable Cities and Transport team at WRI India. Her work focuses on applying transport data analytics, machine learning, and optimisation techniques to develop solutions for urban mobility and electric mobility projects.
With over seven years of experience in data science and research, Seema has worked across diverse fields including machine learning, data analytics, and computer vision. Before joining WRI India, she co-founded a Berlin-based battery analytics startup funded by a State of Berlin grant. The startup focused on predicting the health of retired electric vehicle batteries to enable their reuse in energy storage systems. Her previous roles include working as a data scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the United States and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf in Germany.
Seema holds a master’s degree in environmental science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a dual degree (B.Tech. and M.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and traveling to new places.
