Sanjar Ali
Program Associate - Air Quality

Sanjar Ali is Program Associate with the Air Quality Team at the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. Here, he is engaged with geo-spatial mapping and analysis, policy assessment, data collation and analysis. He also works on research in the field of air quality, Land Use Planning and developing emissions inventories.
Prior to his current role, Sanjar worked as Research Intern and EPP Consultant under the Surat Clean Air Action Plan with WRI India. Before joining WRI, he worked as researcher, designer and architect on various urban development and infrastructure projects, plans and programs. The key projects Includes, was the Housing for All scheme rolled out by the government of India for the states of Bihar and Jharkhand in Eastern India and, National Institute of Design, Jorhat. He has also worked with the National Institute of Technology, Patna.
Sanjar is an architecture graduate from National Institute of Technology Patna, with a master’s in Environmental Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. Currently, he is pursuing a part-time PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where his research aims on Air Pollution Sources in Rural and Urban Areas with a focus on unrecognized sectors and their contribution.
In his free time, Sanjar likes to socialize and do volunteer work. His interests also include travelling, watching movies and playing football.
