Ruchi Kapoor is a Senior Program Associate with the Energy Program at WRI India, focusing on buildings decarbonisation and sustainable cooling.

Ruchi holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s degree in urban planning and has worked across a diverse range of projects in green buildings, energy efficiency, decarbonisation pathways, climate change, and sustainability. Her experience spans both the generation and utilisation sides of energy systems, including behind-the-meter and in-front-of-the-meter projects.

Over the course of her career, Ruchi has worked with a wide spectrum of organisations—ranging from government and non-government bodies to non-profits, small firms, and large multinational companies. These experiences have shaped her current knowledge with a more cohesive understanding of climate change and sustainability.

She is particularly motivated by projects that create tangible, real-world impact—whether directly on the ground or through enabling systems and strategies. She also enjoys working with data—analysing trends, evaluating outcomes, and drawing meaningful insights to assess impact.

Outside of work, Ruchi enjoys visiting her loved ones and enjoying a good conversation over a cup of tea.
