Rishikesh Mishra
Program Manager - Energy
Rishikesh Mishra is a Program Manager with the Energy Program at WRI India. Rishikesh leads project implementation on energy access, particularly in the areas of health, education, and livelihoods. He supports the design and development of technical requirements and works with partner agencies to develop their capacity for designing, planning, monitoring, and sustaining energy interventions.
An engineer by passion, Rishikesh’s consistent endeavor is to bolster the iterative relationship between academic theory and development practice, particularly in the realm of energy. He has previously worked extensively in project engineering and management fields with various organisations. Before joining WRI India, Rishikesh was associated with APPCPL as an Assistant Manager. His fieldwork experience in India spans Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Karnataka, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
He holds an MBA in Power Management from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Dibrugarh University, Assam. His interests include energy relationships covering the intersection of technology, the environment, and the positive impact they can have on the world. He focuses on the power sector, the role of technologies in energy, and novel methodologies for the increased accessibility of energy access and clean energy to people.
Rishikesh is a certified blue belt in Taekwondo, a volleyball lover, and an amateur sketcher and painter. He loves exploring new places and songs in his free time.
