Ramya MA is a program associate with the climate program at WRI India, where she predominantly works on capacity building, planning and implementation of climate action plans at the subnational level.

Previously, Ramya has worked on short term projects with ICLEI in Bonn, the municipality of Figuera da foz in Portugal, and Volvo constructions in Hallsberg, Sweden, on topics like multilevel climate governance, climate adaptation planning and corporate sustainability.

Ramya holds a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Anna University, Chennai and a master’s in environmental management and planning from Lund university, Sweden, with a focus on Applied Research in Urban Governance for a transition to low-carbon and resource-efficient economies.

Ramya is a trained classical musician and enjoys volunteering at animal shelters, baking, and teaching children in her spare time.
