Priyal Shethia
Program Associate – Urban Development
Priyal Shethia is a Program Associate with Sustainable Cities and Transport at WRI India. She works in the Urban Development Team focusing on mainstreaming climate action in Indian cities. She is currently working on the Maharashtra Climate Accelerator program that aims to advance climate action in 44 cities in Maharashtra.
Previously, she contributed to the preparation of the Climate Action Plan for Patan city, Gujarat. During her internship at Urban Management Center, she contributed to the preparation of Net Zero Plan for the Old City, Ahmedabad. She has also worked briefly on mobility audits of streets in Mumbai. Prior to this, she was working at Architect Rushikesh H as a Junior Architect, where she was involved in the execution management of high-rise residential projects.
Priyal holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning with a specialization in Urban Infrastructure from CEPT University, Ahmedabad where she explored topics such as municipal green bonds, solid waste management and social infrastructure. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Sir J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai.
Outside work, she likes to bake and read fiction.
