Prateek Barapatre has joined World Resources Institute India’s Climate program as Program Manager. He will primarily support in advancing the program’s ongoing sub-national climate action work.

Previously, he has worked with Environmental Planning & Coordination Organisation (EPCO), Department of Environment, Government of Madhya Pradesh for more than eight years and has supported the State in integrating the climate agenda in planning process. He has been involved with Government of India sponsored projects supported by DST and MoEFCC. He was also part of the team to prepare the State Action Plan on Climate Change and its implementation, as well as preparation of District level and City level Climate Action Plans. He has vast experience in actionable research, project formulation and implementation, project management and capacity building in addition to liaising with the government departments on climate change issues.

Prateek holds a degree in engineering from SGSITS Indore and a Masters’ degree in Environmental Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal.

Prateek follows sports (particularly cricket, soccer and badminton) and likes travelling and exploring new places. He also loves to try local cuisines at new places.

His family includes parents, wife, a daughter, and he is based out of Bhopal.
