Mimansha Singh
Senior Program Associate - Food Loss and Waste
Mimansha Singh is a Senior Program Associate with the Food Loss and Waste team in WRI India’s Food, Land and Water program. She works on initiatives to reduce food loss and waste and strengthen sustainable food systems, with a focus on research, policy and stakeholder engagement across agricultural value chains and post-harvest systems. She also anchors the Friends of Champions 12.3 India Network, bringing together private sector organisations, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to support knowledge sharing, capacity building and collaboration. Her work includes mapping India’s food loss and food waste policies and supporting the mainstreaming of food loss and waste into national and sub-national policies.
Before joining WRI India, she worked with development organisation, where she led a project sponsored by UNDP. The project focused on strengthening agricultural value chains and promoting women’s entrepreneurship through farmer training, collective mobilisation and capacity building. Prior to this, she worked with a State Rural Livelihoods Mission, where she worked closely with community-based organisations and self-help groups to support entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and sustainable livelihoods.
Mimansha holds a Master’s degree in Development from Azim Premji University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Her experience across development practice, research, policy and stakeholder engagement allows her to contribute to practical and sustainable solutions across food and agricultural systems.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling, cooking, doodling, and nurturing indoor green spaces as a passionate plant lover.
