Mahavir Singh is a Senior Program Research Associate at WRI India, where he focuses on energy modeling, power sector analysis, and supporting India's clean energy transition. His work involves developing power system models, analyzing future energy scenarios, and contributing to strategies for clean energy transition.

Before joining WRI India, he worked as a Research Associate at TERI, where he developed state-level power sector models and contributed to energy efficiency consulting. He has also worked as a Power System Engineer at Nexgen Consultancy and an Engineer at Modern Insulator Ltd., gaining hands-on experience in load flow analysis, AMR data processing, electrical system maintenance, and automation. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant Professor, teaching electrical engineering subjects and guiding research projects.

Mahavir holds an M.Tech. in Power System Engineering and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Shrinathji Institute of Technology and Engineering, RTU, Kota.
