Laxman Singh is the Program Communications Manager for the Air Quality team at WRI India. He oversees strategic communication, engagement, and social media content, supporting the team in writing opinion pieces and blogs, and managing the program’s outreach across ten partner cities.

Prior to joining WRI India, Laxman worked as a journalist with over 12 years of experience in Mumbai-based media houses such as Navbharat Times, Mid-Day, Hindustan Times, and Indian Express. Throughout his career, he has extensively covered urban governance, urban development, Mumbai’s development plan, civic issues, disasters, and environmental subjects.

Laxman holds a degree in chemistry and a Post Graduation Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism from the Bombay College of Journalism, Mumbai. After a gap of over 12 years from his last academic activity, he recently completed a Post Graduation Diploma in Development Communication (Distance learning) from IGNOU, Delhi.

Laxman’s transition to the development sector stems from his interest in sustainability and love for nature. He believes that constant learning is key to addressing challenges. In his free time, he enjoys playing cricket, going for long walks, and trekking.
