Kshitij Singh
Program Associate - Climate

Kshitij Singh is a Program Associate with the WRI India’s Climate Program. He primarily supports the program’s ongoing work on sub-national climate action and India’s Long-term Low Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS).
Previously, he was associated with Bengaluru-based Janaagraha, where he worked as a policy researcher focusing on climate change and urban systems. His work aimed to comprehend citizen-centric governance of cities amidst growing climate and environmental challenges. Before that role, he contributed as a researcher with Prayas Energy Group (PEG), Pune, delving into energy and appliance efficiency policies and their governance. His co-authored note on green public procurement caught the attention of the Ministry of Finance, prompting their directive to phase out inefficient appliances from the GeM marketplace portal. Additionally, he interned with the power sector team at CEEW.
Kshitij holds a Master’s in Public Policy and postgraduate diploma in Environmental Law from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), and a bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from Christ University, Bengaluru.
During weekends and his off time, Kshitij indulges in bird watching, hiking, and film appreciation. He serves as a film reviewer for a Pune-based film festival, displaying a particular interest in parallel cinema and exploring Indian historical fiction literature.
