Dr. Kishore Wankhade is a Program Manager – Air Quality at WRI India. He leads Clean Air Action efforts in Surat under the Accelerator for Clean Air Actions (ACAAS) program, providing technical support to Surat Municipal Corporation and Gujarat Pollution Control Board to improve air quality. He also supports compliance with the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).

With over 20 years of experience, Kishore has worked across chemicals and health, waste management, circular economy, and extended producer responsibility. He has expertise in research, advocacy, waste recycling communities, regulatory policies, and managing municipal solid, hazardous, and electronic waste.

Kishore has collaborated with public and private sector clients including MMRDA, Reliance Industries, and the World Bank. He has managed projects involving social impact assessments, monitoring, and evaluation, and has worked with UNDP and MoEFCC on biodiversity conservation initiatives.

He holds a Master’s in Geography and a PhD in Water Resources Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Originally from Panvel, Navi Mumbai, Kishore is based in Surat and enjoys music, movies, reading, sports, and spending time with friends.
