Kapil Kumar is a Senior Program Associate in the e-Freight team at WRI India, working on accelerating the adoption of zero-emission trucks (ZETs) in India. His work focuses on policy research, stakeholder engagement, and developing financial and operational frameworks to help in enabling freight electrification.

Prior to joining WRI India, Kapil worked with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), where he contributed to urban research and state vision documents. He played a key role in the U20 Ahmedabad summit, supporting the development of knowledge products, including contributions to the U20 India Ahmedabad logo and the white paper on “Local Culture and Identity”.

Kapil holds a master’s degree in urban design from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. His academic work focused on sustainable urban environments   integrating design, technology, and policy. He has also developed skills and interest in parametric design alongside 3D printing explorations, applying innovative approaches to urban challenges.

Kapil enjoys long motorcycle rides, experimenting in the kitchen, working with leather, exploring emerging technologies, and practicing mindful living.
