Gayatri Milind Dixit is a Junior Program Associate with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. She supports the team through research on sustainable transport, electric mobility, and air quality, contributing to policy analysis, data-driven insights, and the development of knowledge products.

Before joining WRI India, Gayatri interned with Jan Jagran Shakti Sanghatan in Araria, Bihar, where she conducted field surveys on welfare schemes, supported NREGA demand processes, and worked on community engagement initiatives. She also interned at the International Institute for Sustainable Development in Geneva, focusing on India’s energy policy, EV and solar value chains, and transition technology research.

Gayatri holds a B.A. Honours in Economics from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, along with an interdisciplinary focus on development studies. She also holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute, Switzerland, with a specialization in development economics.

Outside of work, Gayatri is a trained Hindustani classical vocalist and plays the guitar. She enjoys reading, travelling, trekking, and exploring new cafes, and has a strong interest in fitness and mindfulness.
