Ashwini Chitnis
Program Head – Clean Energy Supply
Ashwini Chitnis is the Head - Clean Energy Supply with the Energy Program at WRI India. She works on electricity transmission planning, grid resilience and integrated resource planning.
She has been working on energy-sector policy and regulation since 2008. Her work covers many areas, including access, capacity addition and planning, tariff and performance evaluation of regulated utilities, and governance. She regularly intervenes in the electricity policy and regulatory processes at both the state and national levels. She is also involved in efforts aimed at capacity building and strengthening long-term resource planning for a renewable energy-rich future.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s in economics from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
In her spare time, she likes to cook, read, listen to audiobooks, or go for walks or cycle rides.
