Arpitha Lakshman
Junior Program Associate – Sustainable Cities & Transport

Arpitha Lakshman is a Junior Program Associate with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. Based in Mumbai, she works on various safer street initiatives under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety.
Before joining WRI India, she was part of a vulnerability assessment study at IIHS Bengaluru that focused on climate-related risks to informal settlements. Her postgraduate studio work emphasized creating child-friendly spaces, integrating natural assets in urban environments and transforming urban villages in Ahmedabad. She has also interned at Wright Inspires, an architecture firm in Bengaluru.
Arpitha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from BMS College of Architecture, Bengaluru and a Master’s degree in Urban Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
In her free time, she enjoys painting, crocheting, photography and watching movies.
