Ankita Raman is a Senior Program Associate at WRI India, where she works on advancing research and policy initiatives in urban development and sustainability. Her work focuses on supporting cities in building resilience through data-driven assessments and strategic planning.

Ankita brings nearly nine years of experience in the development sector. Before joining WRI India, she spent over four years at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), where she led and contributed to initiatives such as the Integrated Capacity Building Programme under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Climate Smart Cities Assessment Framework, the Leadership in Climate Change Management initiative, the Climate Action Plan for Pune under GCoM Asia, and the World Bank-supported Urban River Management Plan.

Ankita holds a Master’s degree in Regional Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. She has recently completed an Executive MBA in Public Policy from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Outside of work, Ankita enjoys sketching and painting. She is an admirer of theatre performances and enjoys reading and listening to books, particularly on history and geopolitics.
