Amittosh is a Manager with the Energy Program at WRI India. He has over seven years of experience working on decentralized renewable energy, with a focus on improving energy access and promoting sustainable and efficient energy solutions in rural and remote regions of India.

Over the years, Amittosh has led and contributed to multiple projects on decentralized renewable energy based development planning. This includes developing integrated energy access and development plans for five border villages in South West Garo Hills, Meghalaya under the Government of India’s Vibrant Villages Programme, and for Mon district in Nagaland in collaboration with the district administration.

In his previous role, Amittosh established an industry academia partnership with the Rural Technology Action Group of six IITs to enable technology transfer and knowledge support for decentralized renewable energy practitioners. He has also authored several reports assessing the state of the decentralized renewable energy sector in India.
