Akanksha Aggarwal is a Program Manager for the Sustainable Cities & Transport Program at WRI India. She operates from the Mumbai office, spearheading several initiatives related to safer streets under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety. Her unwavering focus lies in enhancing urban life quality by fostering safe and liveable cities through better urban design.

With over 7 years of experience in the field of architecture and urban design, Akanksha brings a wealth of expertise. Before joining WRI, she actively contributed to the Mangalore Smart City Project during a voluntary summer internship. Her postgraduate thesis centred around macro and micro-level interventions in the public realm, aiming to create a child-friendly urban environment by addressing the need for play and independent and safe mobility for children.

Akanksha holds a bachelor’s in architecture from Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehradun and a master’s in architecture from CEPT University, Ahmedabad with a major in Urban Design and a minor in Sustainable Architecture.

In her spare time, she likes to read and sketch.
