Aditya Ajith
Program Manager – Air Quality

Aditya Ajith is a Program Manager – Air Quality at WRI India. He works with cities to support the implementation of sectoral policies, programs, and projects aimed at mitigating air pollution. His role involves research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement to advance air pollution mitigation efforts, the circular economy, and sustainable urban development.
Before joining WRI India, Aditya worked with IPE Global, Government of NCT of Delhi (GNCTD), and the Centre for Urban and Regional Excellence (CURE), advising on urban governance, housing, and participatory planning. With over 8.5 years of experience, he has managed projects related to informal housing, community development, and policy implementation, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to bridge technology, governance, and local priorities.
Aditya holds an undergraduate degree in Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, where he was a gold medalist, and a postgraduate degree in Urban Planning from the same institution. He was a recipient of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) and pursued an M.Sc. in Urban Management and Development at Erasmus University, Rotterdam. His academic work focuses on themes such as spatial justice, urban competitiveness and resilience.
An amateur birder and nature enthusiast, Aditya also enjoys philately and numismatics.
