Abhishek Bhardwaj is as a Program Manager with the Energy program at WRI India. He supports efforts to help Indian industries decarbonise and adopt clean energy pathways. Abhishek is a renewable energy specialist and comes with significant experience in working closely with industries and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) clusters. He is also involved in wind (onshore, offshore and small wind)-related engagements, and supports the integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in distribution networks across the country.


Throughout his career, Abhishek has been involved in India’s clean energy transition, supporting the adoption of solar energy, wind energy, and energy efficiency. Prior to WRI India, he worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on rooftop solar deployment in the state of Himachal Pradesh. He has also worked with Inox Wind Ltd., a wind energy company in the organisation’s Wind Resource Assessment department.

Abhishek holds a Master of Technology in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from the TERI School of Advanced Studies and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Sciences. He has also co-founded ExploreValley, a startup facilitating tourism activities in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Abhishek is an avid trekker and has scaled several peaks and passes beyond 4,000 meters in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. He is a hardcore fan of rock music and enjoys playing the guitar.
