Restoring Burhanpur's water supply
Faced with the twin challenges of climate change and Covid-19, a Climate-smart Covid-19 Recovery plan is imperative to alleviate the stresses faced by local communities across Indian cities and villages. The water conservation project in Burhanpur city, Madhya Pradesh, is one such initiative that is ensuring that people get water in their homes to follow adequate hygiene, practice social distancing and stay safe during Covid-19. Here’s the story of how Burhanpur revived its ancient water system to provide clean and regular water to its citizens. Sustainable and Energy-efficient MSMEs
Over the past few months, nations world over have experienced losses due to extreme weather events. Jointly, climate change and Covid-19 have taken a toll on human lives, livelihoods and economies. A Climate-smart Covid-19 Recovery strategy in small-sized, locally established enterprises can alleviate the stresses faced by communities by improving business, opening up the job market and pushing for a clean and green economic revival. A small but growing tribe of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) owners in India explain how their sustainable and energy-efficient models are proving to be cost-effective and gratifying. Experts add insight into the need for MSMEs to access the right capital and markets.
