Land Accelerator South Asia Cohort 2021

The Land Accelerator South Asia proudly presents the 2021 Cohort in line with the inspiring results from the Cohort 2020. This year, the World Resources Institute India, in collaboration with Sangam Ventures, New Delhi is supporting 58 innovative entrepreneurs across South Asia with grant support from the IKEA Foundation.

Aiming towards a holistic business creation and growth acceleration, the programme will work with these geographically diverse 58 entrepreneurs to cultivate their rewarding restoration solutions. This cohort represents entrepreneurs working in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, satellite-based crop monitoring, value chains for non-timber forest produce, precision and AI based farming/agritech, drones in forestry and agriculture, aquaculture, clean energy based post-harvest solutions, sustainable bee value chains, eco-friendly planting, packaging materials etc.

In addition to the entrepreneurial support, all the participants will have the opportunity to apply for a Land Accelerator Investment Pack under which the top 15 startups will receive a 3,000 Euro Innovation Grant and an opportunity to showcase their business to Impact Investors towards the completion of the program through our Demo Day initiative.

The Land Accelerator South Asia is designed to foster a unique entrepreneurial eco-system which aims at nurturing these innovative landscape entrepreneurs with dedicated mentorship, technical expertise, marketing and networking solutions, and funding for scaling up. The Land Accelerator South Asia program also aims to develop sustainable and profitable business models for land restoration.

Namrata is trying to imprint Bastar tribal art on these vetiver curtains to generate livelihood for the tribal population. They have also applied for domestic and international patent. Vetiver grass is believed to have several soil restoring properties and lab tests are currently underway to understand the environmental impact better. The machinery used for for making the vetiver fabric is also unique, for which the company will fille another patent.
