Bio

Abhinand Gopal is a member of the Geo-Analytics team in the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. He works as a visual liaison between the data-analytics and communications teams to create infographics, data charts and analytical storyboards.

Before joining WRI India, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. There, he worked as a mentor aiming to break away from classroom monotony to bridge the pedagogical gap between academics, industries, and the market. During the formative years of his under-graduation, he co-founded an e-commerce clothing start-up with quirky brand merchandise.

Abhinand is formally educated in the field of architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and holds a master’s in Urbanism and Strategic Planning from KU Leuven, Belgium and TU Delft, The Netherlands. With a diverse skill set in graphic and digital design, he is an avid traveler who loves to work in creatives collectives.

Abhinand is deeply passionate about digital and print mediums. He believes in the need to experiment and overcome limitations. In his free time, he loves to play chess, trade coins and capture cityscapes.
