Bio

Vishal Ramprasad is a Manager with the Integrated Transport vertical in the Sustainable Cities and Transport program. He supports transit agencies in developing their data strategies to improve access of services, works with government agencies in developing policies to regulate new mobility models and has undertaken research exercises to understand the informal, paratransit services in Indian cities. He has also developed initiatives to help public transit agencies experiment with privately run, tech-driven solutions to meet sustainable mobility goals of cities.

Vishal comes with an experience of working with trade commissions of different countries on projects around smart cities, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility. He has also worked with some of the leading Indian IT players.

Vishal holds a master’s degree in business education from EDHEC University in Nice, France and an engineering degree in computer science from the University of Mumbai.

Vishal lives in Mumbai and likes to attend live music performances in small settings.

The Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 is the principal act of the Parliament of India that governs and regulates the road transport ecosystem in the country. It was enforced in June 1989 and is the go-to legislation for the granting of permits, registration of motor vehicles, licensing of drivers and conductors, insurance, liability, offences and penalties, and so on.
