Talk Series - UNLOCK BENGALURU

Sustainable Urban Mobility in Bengaluru: Strategic Interventions to Leverage City Scale Improvements

WRI India Sustainable Cities presents the second talk in the Unlock Bengaluru series: “Sustainable Urban Mobility in Bengaluru: Strategic Interventions to Leverage City Scale Improvements.”

The talk will focus on scaling sustainable mobility in Bengaluru through strategic public and private interventions. Dr. Ekroop Caur, Managing Director, BMTC, will deliver the keynote address, followed by talks from our speakers Prof. Sivanand Swamy (CEPT), Mr. Vijay Kovvali (IBI Group), and Mr. Amit Bhatt (WRI India).

As Bengaluru makes critical decisions on sustainable development, the city has an opportunity to move onto a path of improved liveability and sustainability. WRI India has been working with several key stakeholders from government departments, academic institutions, civil society, and independent experts in Bengaluru for nearly a decade, towards improving the quality of life for its citizens and future investment for the city.

Charlotte Matthews, Vice President of Sustainability for Related Companies delivered the first talk of the Unlock Bengaluru series on Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States and the largest development in New York City since the Rockefeller Center.

The Unlock Bengaluru series looks to assist urban centres like Bengaluru to make informed decisions on land-use and infrastructure, including transport and energy that typically have a 40-100 year 'lock-in' effect. Specifically, focusing on addressing problems resulting from congestion, sprawl, and energy inefficiency.

Limited seats available.
