New Delhi, August 11, 2026: The Shift Transport coalition today launched the Transport Analytics Hub (TAH) – an open-access platform that uses geospatial analytics and interactive visualisation to support evidence-based urban mobility transformation. The coalition works towards transitioning to sustainable, inclusive and people-centred urban mobility.

TAH enables users to visualise mobility patterns spatially, compare cities through mobility indicators and examine urban road networks through geospatial metrics. The platform also helps users understand how people, roads and transport networks interact across cities generating evidence-based insights and identifying trends, strengths and areas for improvement.

WRI India (as part of the Shift Transport coalition) demonstrated the Hub during a session that brought together senior urban mobility experts to explore how the platform can help users build actionable insights to reimagine mobility in cities.

At the launch, Pawan Mulukutla, Executive Director – Integrated Transport, Clean Air and Hydrogen, WRI India, said, “Cities generate vast amounts of transport data, but the real value lies in using that data to understand how mobility systems work and where they need to improve. The Transport Analytics Hub will help practitioners explore questions more easily, compare cities and generate evidence that can inform better transport decisions.”

The launch also featured WRI India’s new working paper, Assessing Urban Road Networks Using Geospatial Metrics. The paper presents 21 geospatial indicators that assess urban road networks across dimensions such as connectivity, travel efficiency, street hierarchy and network performance.

Through TAH and its research, the Shift Transport coalition aims to make transport analytics more accessible and useful for practitioners working towards more connected, efficient and inclusive urban mobility.
