Senior Program Communication Associate – Content Creator
Shaima Ahmed is a Senior Program Communication Associate – Content Creator with the Sustainable Cities & Transport program at WRI India. She supports strategic communication through content development, storytelling, and user-centric communication products that translate complex urban and transport research into accessible narratives.
Before joining WRI India, Shaima worked for over nine years across the development sector, with deep experience in strategic communication, SBCC, and organizational development. She has collaborated with UN agencies, bilateral donors, and grassroots organizations, leading the design of training toolkits, campaigns, IEC materials, and donor-facing content across health, education, gender, youth leadership, and climate change initiatives.
Shaima holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Her academic training is complemented by professional certifications and hands-on experience in facilitation, instructional design, and SBCC, enabling her to bridge research, systems thinking, and creative communication in development practice.
Her interests include photography, visual storytelling, creative writing, painting, reading, and travel, which inform her approach to narrative-driven and people-centered communication.
